EJoller@epicvb.com
Erik is a native San Diegan who has been playing volleyball since 7th grade. He was a three-year varsity starter for Rancho Bernardo High. His senior year he was team captain and was named to the First Team All-League as well as the San Diego All-Star Team. He also played five years of club volleyball.??
After High School, Erik played for two years at Palomar Community College. His second year, the team won the Pacific Coast Conference and was the runner-up at the State Championships, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team.
From there Erik went to Holy Names University, an NAIA school, where he played his final two years of collegiate volleyball. During his fifth year at Holy Names, he was the assistant coach for the men's volleyball team.
Erik graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in History.
Since then, Erik has coached three seasons at Westview High School. He coached the freshmen boys in 2009 and JV boys in 2010 & 2011. Each season he has been an assistant to the boy’s varsity team.
In 2009, Erik received his first year experience coaching club with Epic’s 14-1 boys. Erik has shown his ability to coach in all age groups, by taking the 16-1 team in 2010, and the 18-1 team in 2011. This past 2012 season, Erik took the head job of our boys 17-1 team, and we are excited to bring him back in an assistant coach role this year.
He has a positive demeanor about him and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game with any team he coaches.
In Erik’s spare time, you will find him either down at South Mission working on his beach volleyball game or playing competitive indoor volleyball. He loves being outdoors and has a great passion for living life everyday.
